Specifications:
The nailer is designed to properly seat the nail without undue force. You do not have to hit it hard. Strike firmly but not too hard, then strike again until the ram returns, the ram will not return till the nail is properly seated. Hold nailer firmly so that it rests on the floor with the lip hanging over and against the edge of the strip being nailed. As an aid use your shoe on the rear of the nailer.  :

Strike the rubber cap of the nailer with the metal side of the hammer. Tap flooring into place with non-marring side of hammer. The first two and last five strips of flooring must be nailed vertically.  :
